What consoles will Among Us be on?
It seems that InnerSloth wants its game to be everywhere, even though it’s taken a few years to get to this point. Among Us first launched on iOS and Android back in 2018 and expanded to PC later in the year. It took a little while for it to really pick up steam, but once it did, Among Us launched for the Switch in December of last year. It remained on those platforms throughout 2021, but later this year, Among Us is going to be on Xbox and Playstation consoles. On December 14th, it will launch for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. If you’re an Xbox Game Pass user, you’ll be glad to know that it’s also launching on Game Pass. Neither company stated how much the game will cost on their respective platforms. It’s currently $4.99 on Steam, so we don’t expect the price to be far from that.
What is Among Us?
In case you’ve been living under the proverbial rock, Among Us is a multiplayer game that blew up in 2020. A group of players is placed in a location like a base or a ship, and it’s their job to do assigned maintenance tasks. However, one of the players is an imposter whose job is to kill off the other players. The imposter has a selection of abilities that allow them to surreptitiously kill other players. They can cause disturbances, instantly jump between vents, and mess with different electronic systems. If the imposter manages to kill enough people before they can complete their tasks, then they win, On the other hand, the innocent players have the ability to vote out any player they deem suspicious. If the imposter is spotted, they run the risk of being voted out. Among Us gathered a cult following last year during the Coronavirus pandemic. Its popularity inspired a host of Among Us clones; one of the most notable ones being Fortnite’s “Imposters.” The fact that it’s coming to more consoles means that Among Us is still one of the most popular games we can play now.
