XDA reports that Nord N100 users are receiving the OxygenOS 11.0.6 update, whereas the OnePlus 7 and the 7T are getting OxygenOS 11.0.7.1. The changelog for both updates is nearly identical, so don’t expect any radical new changes onboard. However, monthly updates are crucial for any modern-day smartphone from a security perspective.

The updates could take a few days to reach all devices

Despite the rollout commencing in most regions, the update could take a while to appear on all devices. In any case, most customers of the OnePlus 7/7T or the Nord N100 are likely to see the update before the end of the week. If the update is already live in your region but hasn’t reached your device yet, you can manually check for an update via the Settings. While sideloading options exist on several platforms, it’s always safer to download the updates whenever the manufacturer rolls them out. OnePlus started rolling out the OxygenOS 10.5.6 for the Nord N100 in North America not too long ago. The update introduced key changes, including some power consumption improvements. It reached the European variants of the Nord N100 under OxygenOS 10.5.8 shortly after. Both updates patched some “known issues,” though the manufacturer didn’t specify them. The company’s primary focus is now on the OnePlus Ace, which broke cover last week. Featuring flat sides and curved corners, the Ace is different from what we usually expect from the manufacturer. Understandably, this is a mid-range offering, powered by MediaTek’s 5nm Dimensity 8100-Max chipset. Customers will have the option of 8 or 12GB of RAM, while storage options include 128GB and 512GB (UFS 3.1). With a price tag of 2,499 CNY ($380) in China, the OnePlus Ace is targeting the crowded mid-range market segment. It runs Android 12 out of the box, paired with ColorOS 12.1 or OxygenOS 12, depending on the region. The phone also features a 4,500mAh battery with 150W SuperVOOC fast wired charging. It’s unclear when or if the phone will reach global markets, though we know it is scheduled to launch in India later this week. But if you’re in the market for a flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro fits the bill perfectly. Needless to say, it’s been a pretty busy first few months of 2022 for the company.
