According to the official release notes, the Fitbit Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense are now picking up status indicators for do not disturb (DND), sleep mode, low battery, and disconnected status. The indicator icons appear at the top of the screen so you quickly know whether you have DND turned on or your device is in sleep mode. This will ensure that you aren’t missing out on notifications unknowingly. Likewise, a bold red battery icon will let you know that your smartwatch is running out of power so you put it on charge. Lastly, the disconnected status is indicated by a struck-through phone icon. This will appear whenever your Fitbit Versa 3 or Fitbit Sense loses connection to your smartphone. Note that these status indicators aren’t persistent. They will appear for three seconds upon the screen turning on. You can swipe right to see the icons at the top of quick settings. Fitbit also lets you permanently disable the status indicators from the Settings app, under Display » Status indicators. In addition to the new status indicators, the two Fitbit wearables are also picking up the ability to track a few new outdoor activities like kayaking, skiing, and more. You can use the outdoor exercise mode in the Exercise app to access these activities.
