The Nudges feature in Google Messages is available under Settings > General > Suggestions. You get two toggles: “suggest reply reminders” and “suggest follow-up reminders”. When enabled, the former will move messages that may need a reply to the top of your inbox. So whenever you open Messages, you will see all the threads that you haven’t replied to yet up top. The latter option, meanwhile, will similarly highlight conversations that you may have already responded to but need to follow up on. Of course, both of these are optional features. According to the new report, Google Messages beta version 10.8.260 is bringing the Nudges feature to users. However, some users are reportedly seeing the feature on version 10.6.240 as well. So this appears to be a change rolling out via a server-side update. You can enroll in Google Messages beta program here if you aren’t already a beta tester to access the feature early. Users of the stable version might also want to download the latest available update for the Google Messages app (link at the bottom of this article) to get the feature as soon as it is rolled out publicly.

Google Messages keeps getting better

Google Messages, the default text messaging app for Android, is one of the best in the business. And it keeps getting better. Over the past few months, Google has added several new features and improvements to the app. These include auto sorting messages into different categories such as “Personal,” “Transactions,” “OTPs,” and “Offers”. The app also picked up the ability to automatically delete OTPs after 24 hours. Additionally, Google has rolled out end-to-end encryption to all one-to-one RCS (Rich Communication Services) conversations on the app. Now, with the new “Nudges” feature, the company is making Messages even more useful. The latest addition to Google Messages is currently available to beta testers only. But it’s now just a matter of time before the feature rolls out on the stable version as well. You can click the button below to download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store.
