Both the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro will get Android 13 after all

The two phones arrived with Android 10 pre-installed, and got Android 11 and 12. Luckily, this is not the end of the road for either of those two devices, as Android 13 will also make its way to them. We still don’t know when will that happen, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro will get Android 13 first, though OnePlus did not release a timeline for that either. The OnePlus 10T 5G will likely be second in line, while the rest will follow. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are the oldest ex-flagships of the company that will get this update. The OnePlus 8T, 9, and 9 Pro will also get it, of course, as they all launched after the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

OxygenOS 13 will resemble ColorOS

OnePlus did not exactly share all the OxygenOS 13 details, but the company did talk about it. We’ve already covered that news, but it’s worth reiterating that it will resemble ColorOS. OnePlus is referring to the UI design of OxygenOS 13 as “aquamorphic”, and various improvements will be included. Private Safe 2.0 is coming, while OnePlus also talked about Smart Toolbox and Spatial Audio. The Hyperboost Gaming Engine will get improvements, and Zen Mode will get tweaked as part of the update as well. You can expect many other improvements here. OxygenOS 12 and 13 do resemble ColorOS, after a change from OxygenOS 11. OxygenOS 10 was the last update to have a deep connection to stock Android. OxygenOS 14 may change things, if OnePlus decides to differentiate its UI from ColorOS, we’ll see.
