Samsung is selling its 25W charger without a cord for cheaper
This, like many things in the smartphone world, is something that no one asked for. A lot of OEMs are now excluding the charger from the box. These companies try to assuage the situation by globbing on PR speak, but we know why they’re doing it— money. Samsung, like the other OEMs, let you buy a charger separately. What stops people from just buying cheaper chargers is the fact that, if they want to have the fastest speeds on a Samsung phone, they’ll need to buy a Samsung-branded charger. No one wants to spend extra money after paying over a grand for a Galaxy phone; that’s the problem. Well, Samsung has a solution. Getting the 25W charger straight from Samsung will set you back $34.99, but what if you wanted to get it cheaper? You can, but it will cost you. If you want to save money, you can buy the Samsung 25W charger for much cheaper at only $17.99. That’s about a 49% price cut, which is insane.
Getting this would be better than a 45W charger
Sometimes, bigger numbers don’t make a better product. The more premium Galaxy S devices can pump up to 45W of juice into the battery. While that’s a 44% increase over the 25W charger, there isn’t much of a difference in overall charging time. Sam Mobile compared the charging speed for a 25W charger and a 45W charger, and the 45W charger finished only a minute ahead of the 25W charger. The difference in battery percentage never passed about 6%-7%. That was a really disappointing discovery and a slap to the face of anyone who paid the extra cash for the 45W charger.
