The company generally uses a relatively stock user interface on its mobile devices. This isn’t changing with the TAB Pro 5G, although the device has some Verizon bloatware preinstalled. Customers will also find the usual suite of Google apps on the device. The most exciting factor about the TAB Pro 5G is its pricing. The carrier is selling this for just $399.99, making it the most affordable 5G tablet in the market right now. By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G sells for $670 on Verizon (via).
This tablet is compatible with Verizon’s mmWave 5G network
TCL said in a press release that the TAB Pro 5G will leverage Verizon’s Nationwide and Ultra Wideband 5G networks. Taking these factors into consideration, the TCL TAB Pro 5G practically has no competition, particularly at this price. “We are proud to continue expanding and strengthening our partnership with Verizon by adding TCL’s very first 5G tablet to our product portfolio,” said Eric Anderson, Senior VP and GM of TCL North America. “This new addition to our lineup builds on our company’s 5G For All campaign, ensuring plenty of opportunities for entertainment, productivity, and more to families and professionals alike.” The TAB Pro 5G packs a 10.36-inch (2000×1200) NXTVISION LCD screen and a hefty 8,000 mAh battery pack. The company will also include an 18W charger in the box. TCL claims the battery can last for up to 17 hours with mixed usage and can even work as a power bank to charge other devices. This affordable 5G tablet also has stereo speakers onboard. The tablet offers a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, and an 8MP selfie camera with face unlock. It runs on the octa-core Snapdragon 480 5G chipset and has 4GB of RAM. Since this is a budget offering, users only get 64GB of internal storage. Thankfully, the TAB Pro 5G supports microSD storage expansion (up to 1TB). It runs Android 11 out of the box. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, and a dedicated accessory port. Although it lacks a headphone jack, TCL provides a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the retail packaging.
