But the surprising part is, there won’t be any discounts on either model yet. So the Galaxy Note 20 is still priced at $999 and the Note 20 Ultra at $1,199. Which makes it a tough sell, when the Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra are cheaper and often times discounted even lower. Not to mention the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is going to be $999 as well. The only real reason to get the Galaxy Note 20 would be the S-Pen without a case. Samsung would not confirm that the Galaxy Note series is dead, however. So we could see a Galaxy Note 20 FE or a Galaxy Note 21 series in the future.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not replacing the Note series
One might expect that Samsung is positioning the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to replace the Galaxy Note as its big productivity phone. Especially now that it has S-Pen support. But that is not the case, according to Samsung. Samsung is instead extending that piece of the Note to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. And giving users choice. If we zoom out a bit here, we can see that Samsung has been adding S-Pen support to more and more of the devices in its lineup. So seeing it come to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not a huge surprise. It has been available on its tablets for years. As well as its Chromebooks. And now it’s coming to other phones, which started with the Galaxy S21 Ultra earlier this year. So, the Galaxy Note series is not quite dead, and the Note 20 is remaining on the market. Though, we will likely see it get some sort of discount in the very near future.
